As a small business, we are trying to find ways to continue supporting our staff, while keeping up with the day to day expenses of our facility, so that we are ready to open as soon as we are given the "OK".

Dear Yak Academy Families,
We would like to thank everyone who has stood by us during this difficult times as the COVID-19 Virus and protocols have been rapidly developing. At Yak Academy, Redondo Beach we value all of our families, and want to ensure you that your child's education is of top priority to us.
Given the changes in our local governances, we will be following the LA County Mayor's "Safer at Home" directive. We also work closely with local school districts and he Los Angeles County Office of Education to be on top of updates with regards to educational institutions. Given this,the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Debra Duardo announced she has extended her recommendation to close all schools in Los Angeles County with students returning on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 to limit the community spread of COVID-19. What does that mean for Yak Academy, Redondo Beach? We commit to taking the following steps:
Extend our closure date until Tuesday, May 5, 2020 as other local school districts
Continue with Distance Learning opportunities via Zoom every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30-11:00AM
FREEZE all accounts for the month of April 2020. No charges will be accrued during month of April.
Extend our school year into our summer session
We understand that every family has been impacted tremendously during this time, and we appreciate the dedication and support you have given to our school, staff and their families. Update on March 13, 2020
Dear Yak Academy Families,
As a result of the spread of COVID-19, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) along with the Los Angeles Department of Public Health has advised that all schools within the county close for two weeks. Yak Academy will dismiss students and cancel all Preschool and Enrichment classes beginning Monday, March 16th through March 28th. We will also be moving our Spring Break to March 30th through April 4th. At this time classes and programs are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6th.All essential employees will continue working remotely during this time to ensure the safety of our center and will be available via email.
Please note that cancelling or withdrawing from any programs does not guarantee re-entry. We ask that you are rest assured that you will be taken care and will be informed about your class make-ups, and we will adhere to our scheduled payment policy.We will send information on extended school year date and updated calendars once we feel it is safe to do so.
We recognize that this presents significant challenges as many families depend on the daily routine of school. We will send out a list of resources and supports that can be used at home within the next few days.
