At Yak Academy, we believe that language and learning extends beyond the classroom. We aim at teaching our students to be compassionate global citizens, and our Holidays from the Heart event is one way to do so.
This is our 3rd Annual Holidays from the Heart event at Yak Academy.
This year, we will be supporting our brothers and sisters in Venezuela through our Holiday Non-Perishable Donation Drive. We will be working in conjunction with a non-profit organization, Helping Children in Venezuela (HCIV), to provide humanitarian aid during their current crisis.
HCIV is a group founded by Venezuelan volunteers based out of Los Angeles, who put on donation drives all throughout the greater Los Angeles Area to collect, pack and ship supplies to Venezuela. Once the items arrive, they have a team of volunteers who distribute the donated items to communities, schools, hospitals, and street children all through out the country.
We will be accepting any type of non-perishable foods as well as monetary donations to support with shipping costs.
Our donation drive will take place from December 2nd-December 14th.
